What a fun start to the new school year and 2020. Movie Mondays have seemed to be a hit, and we've had great attendance for our PTSA meetings on those days. I am happy that we were able to adjust our monthly meetings so it can accommodate more families schedules.
We have a very busy year ahead of us. We just held our very first Silent Disco in January, and if you missed it, you missed out on an evening of so much fun. It was neat to see all the children and parents jamming out together, while allowing infant siblings and others who are sensitive to noise to be able to attend. We will be having another one in the next few months so stay tuned.
February 11th is our next PTSA meeting 6pm in our school library. We have a lot of Spring events happening, and you can be the first to hear all about it at our meeting.
We are still in need of some volunteers to chair events. I can help you through the whole process of learning your role and how to lead or assist in the position. When I first came to Brownsville I just started helping with Staff Appreciation, which was donating food to bring. Then I helped with the Rummage Sale and loved that, so the next year I co chaired it and from there I just started learning about all the different ways I could be involved in my kids school and I have loved every minute of it.

Our RUMMAGE SALE is coming up on March 7th! If you are doing some spring cleaning - please consider setting them aside to donate to our sale. Donations will be accepted March 5-6 at Brownsville Elementary. Please contact Heidi Thorsen (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions. We're looking for volunteers to help collect and sort items on March 5th and 6th and to help with the sale on March 7th. Sign up to help here.

Our annual Jog-A-Thon Fundraiser is coming up on March 17! We've got tons of information available on the event page - and students should be bringing home packets soon. One of the biggest changes this year is that we'll be able to collect donations online - and you can create your very own supporter page. These pages can easily be shared over Facebook, Instagram and email with your friends and family.
We can't wait to see how this works in action and we hope you're excited about this option too!
